On Macs, much like on PCs, the instructions for printing in color will vary based on the model and type of printer. Most color printers on campus are now Kyocera multifunction units.
General Instructions for Color Printing on a Mac
The following general instructions apply to all Kyoceras on campus and most of the remaining Canon color printer/copiers as well:
- Click File => Print
- Select the color printer from the list of printers installed on the computer.
- Click on Copies & Pages
- Click on Imaging.
- Under Color Mode: select Full Color.
- Select Print.
You can click Print and it'll print in color BUT before you print, I recommend saving this configuration under Presets near the top of the window. This will allow you to save the above steps into a preset (you can call it "Color Printing"). If you do this once, the above instructions can be shortened to:
- Click File => Print
- Select the color printer from the list of printers installed on the computer.
- Click on Presets: Default Settings.
- Select the name (e.g. Color Printing).
- Click Print.
How to Save a Color Printing Preset
To save a “Color Printing” preset, follow the general instructions above to change the print job from “Black & White” to “Full color.” Next…
- Click on “Presets: Default Settings,”
- Select “Save Current Settings as Preset…,”
- Give the preset a name (e.g. Color Printing).
- Select “OK.”
