Summary

This article describes the standard computer model options currently available to faculty and staff.

Body

ITS recognizes that different users have different needs and preferences in computer platforms and therefore offers both macOS and Microsoft Windows (Lenovo) computer options to faculty and staff.

Our standard model computers will meet the needs of most Middlebury employees.  If you have unique computing needs or any questions, please contact the help desk to discuss which configuration is best suited for your work.

ITS provides a single 24" Lenovo monitor or a 24" Lenovo docking monitor for each employee.

Software

Computers purchased and maintained by ITS include basic tools unique to each OS as well as utilities which help ITS manage and secure Middlebury devices. Employees are able to install additional software themselves as needed. Popular licensed software used at the College (such as Adobe applications or Microsoft Office) are available for self-install via Self Service Installations. Applications are also listed in our Service Catalog.  More info can be found at: http://go.middlebury.edu/selfservice/.
