The error can look like this in Canvas:
Authorization failed. Please click "Authorize" to try again.
Log In
You need to authorize this integration in order to use it.
Please sign in to your Google account and authorize this integration.

Clicking on the AUTHORIZE button can result in the same error appearing. If this happens, use the following steps to troubleshoot your browser settings.
Check Browser Settings
Instructure has a list of recommended browsers and their settings for Canvas. Visit this page and make sure the browser you are using is supported and has the recommended settings.
Reset Browser Settings and Cache
In most cases allowing third-party cookies will allow the integration to authorize. In some cases you will also need to clear the browser cache and cookies.

Verify that your browser allows Third-Party Cookies.

Enable third-party cookies.

If you are using Incognito mode in Chrome make sure “Block third-party cookies in Incognito mode” is not checked.

Check to make sure you do not have browser plug-ins or extensions that block third-party cookies.

Refresh the page with the Google integration and AUTHORIZE. If you get the same error go to Step 2.

Clear your browser cache and cookies.

Close your browser.

Re-open your browser.

Revisit the page with the Google integration and AUTHORIZE. If you get the same error go to Reset the Google Integration below.
Reset the Google Integration
In rare instances the integration between your Canvas and Google accounts gets corrupted and needs to be reset. Follow these steps to remove the integration and add it back in.

Remove Google Drive as a registered service and Google Drive LTI IAD-Prod as an approved integration in Canvas

In Canvas, go to Account > Settings

Remove Google Drive from the Registered Services section

Mouseover Google Drive and click the X in the red circle.

Click the trash can icon for "Google Drive LTI IAD-Prod" under Approved Integrations.

Remove Google Drive LTI by Canvas as an app for your account in Google.

Go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

Click Canvas > Delete all connections you have with Canvas

Click Google Drive LTI by Canvas > Delete all connections you have with Google Drive LTI by Canvas

If neither of these are on the list go to Step 3.

Clear your browser cache and cookies.

Use "All Time" or "All History" option if prompted.

Log out of Canvas.

Log out of Google Drive.

Close your browser.

Re-open your browser.

Navigate to an assignment that requires access to Google Drive

Click the AUTHORIZE button.
