VMWare Installation Instructions

Connect to your desktop and applications by using the VMWare Horizon Client or through the browser.

1. In your browser go to the URL https://desktop.smcvt.edu :

2. Click on the “Install VMware Horizon Client” icon
    
3. Find the appropriate download link for your operating system and click on “Go to Downloads”:

 

4. Click on the “Download” button to download the VMware Client:

5. Once downloaded, click on the file to run it:

6. This will launch the installer. Click on “Customize Installation” to start:

 

7. Leave everything as default except the “Default connection server,” here you will enter “https://desktop.smcvt.edu” as shown. Then click “Agree” to continue:

8. You should see a success message if it correctly installs:

 

9. You can now access the VMware Client via the Start Menu:

 

10. Launch the program, and click on the server icon to login:

 

 

11. After logging in, you will see a list of virtual desktops available to you. Click on the virtual desktop you want to open a new window and launch it:
