Champlain Students, Faculty, and Staff can add their email account to a smart phone for convenient access. Follow these steps to set it up:
iPhone:
1. Open the App store and search for gmail at the top search bar:
2. Download the gmail app - press the "open" button once available:
3. The app should start with a "sign in" button - tap it to start signing in:
4. If you have an account on your device already, use the "add another account" button.
5. If not, simply select the Google option to sign in:
6. Press Continue when prompted:
7. At the sign-in screen, enter your Champlain email address. Students use the format firstname.lastname@mymail.champlain.edu and staff use flast@champlain.edu
8. Once signed in, you should be set! Make sure to tap "allow" when prompted for notifications if you would like an alert for each new email:
Android:
1. Navigate to the Play Store and type in “Gmail” at the top search bar.
Click on the top result, which says “Gmail” and has an envelope logo. Hit the button that says install/download/open – this will vary depending on your device.
2. If you have a personal email, follow the next step. If not, skip down to step 3 below.
Navigate to the top right of your inbox and click on your profile picture located on the “Search in mail” task bar
On the menu that appears, press the “add another account” option near the bottom.
3. In the “Set up email” menu, press the top option of Google
4. When prompted, re-enter your device PIN that you use to unlock your phone.
Sign in with your firstname.lastname@mymail.champlain.edu email account.
After signing in, press the “I agree” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
You are now signed in to your Champlain email!
If you already had your personal email signed in, you can easily switch between the two. To do this switch, click on the same icon from before and click the account you would like to have active to switch to that email inbox.
