Faculty who wish to use Turnitin on a Canvas assignment can follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the assignment in Canvas and click Edit.
Step 2: Scroll down to the Submission Type section. Under Submission type, select Online submission. Be sure that either “Text Entry” or “File Uploads” is checked (or both).

Step 3: Scroll down to the Plagiarism Review section and select Turnitin Originality from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: Select whether to exclude bibliographies and quotes from the report, whether to index all submissions, and when to show the report to students. (When a submission is indexed by Turnitin, it is made available for comparison in future Similarity Reports.)

Step 5: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click SAVE
