No Cost and Discount Software for Champlain College Faculty and Staff
Champlain owned computers have access to a wide range of software that has already been licensed for use by faculty, staff and students. It is typically not necessary to make additional software purchases for these systems. A live resource that indicates where software is installed in campus labs may be found here. This page has information and links to the different software solutions provided to staff and faculty for personal academic use. Autodesk
Autodesk has a site where students can register to receive an educational license for their some of their products(including Autocad, 3DS Max, Maya). Gain access to it by visiting their site and registering your Champlain provided email address. Autodesk Education Community
Google Suite
All active Champlain College student, faculty and staff accounts include Google’s App suite. This provides the entire Champlain College community with Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Calendar and more. This account also provides cloud based storage to allow the sharing and storage of documents. These tools are accessible to all members of our community, including all students, and may facilitate collaboration and communication as they can be accessed from any Internet connected computer, on or off campus.
Microsoft Azure Dev Tools For Teaching
Students: This resource is provided automatically to eligible students at the beginning of the semester. Eligible students are those enrolled in certain courses in Champlain College Online, Information Technology and Science, or the Stiller School of Business. If you think you should have access contact ChampSupport (champsupport@champlain.edu). To access this resource, please follow the steps below:
1. Clear the cache and cookies of the browser you are using.
2. Use InPrivate or Incognito browser.
3. Go to https://signup.azure.com/studentverification?offerType=1.
4. Sign in using your school email address and password, then click ‘Next’.
5. Upon signing in, you may be asked to agree to the terms and conditions and the Academic/Student verification (for first time users). If not, you should be routed to the Education | Overview page.
6. To see software available, please click ‘Software tab’, search for the software needed.
7. Click on ‘View Key’ to get the Product key. For your reference, please be advised that most of the software found in the Education Hub portal has their own product keys designated for them. These product keys are specifically used to activate the software once they are successfully installed in your device.
8. Click ‘Download’ to download the software.
Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is installed on all Champlain College owned computers. For use on a personal computer, students may log in on the Microsoft 365 portal and click the "install now" button to download and install the Office suite. Please be sure to log in with your Champlain email and password to activate the program if prompted.
Faculty and Staff can download and install the Office programs following the instructions in this article, linked here. The primary steps involve downloading and connecting the program license to your Champlain account. If you would prefer to purchase a discounted license and keep it separate from your Champlain account, you may do so via the Microsoft Office Home Use Program.
VMWare (VMAP)
Champlain owned systems should not require an additional license for VMWare. If you would like to have access to a particular product that you do not have already installed, contact us at champsupport@champlain.edu
