How to Create a PDF from an Image

There are a number of available products that support conversion of a photo or scan to a PDF file format.  Options by platform are listed below.

 

macOS

  • PDF creation is already supported by the mac operating system using the available print functionality.

  • Adobe Acrobat is also available for macOS. Active Middlebury faculty, staff, and students can install Adobe Acrobat following instructions at go/getadobe/.

 

Windows

  • You can convert images to PDF through Adobe Acrobat. Active Middlebury faculty, staff and students can install Adobe Acrobat following instructions at go/getadobe/.

  • PDF Creator is a free tool for use on Windows.  

 

iOS (iPhone and iPad)

  • Microsoft OfficeLens is a simple free app for smartphones that allows you to take a picture of your document and converts it to PDF for you.

  • Adobe Scan is a comprehensive scanning tool that is available for active Middlebury faculty, staff and students.

 

Android
