Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) helps safeguard your Middlebury account from online criminals who would use your credentials to launch cyber attacks from Middlebury’s technology services and/or steal sensitive and confidential information.
Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) provides two enhanced security capabilities:
- Safe Links -- If a link has been identified as unsafe, you will be warned not to visit the site or informed that the site has been blocked.
- Safe Attachments -- Advanced malware analysis evaluates email content and helps you avoid opening malicious attachments.
You may notice that with ATP enabled, it can take longer for attachments to open. This is normal as advanced scanning of your message attachments is taking place to simulate the opening of your attachments in an isolated, safe environment to verify their safety.
Note: If you view your messages in a "preview" pane, it may not display or notify you when the scan is complete. Try opening the message (double click) if you feel the scan is taking too long.
