Body
Accessing a shared mailbox via Webmail provides a way to adjust settings and rules that pertain to just the shared account rather than your own — without the need for a password. For Microsoft's documentation on opening a shared mailbox using Webmail, see Open and use a shared mailbox in Outlook.
Direct access
This access will directly open the shared mailbox in a new tab.
-
Open a browser and log in to Webmail (go/mail/) with your own Middlebury email.
-
Click the account icon (circle with your initials or profile picture) in the top right of the screen.
-
Click Open another mailbox in the drop-down.

-
Type the email address of the shared mailbox; select it from the drop-down list, then click Continue.
-
A separate tab will open on your browser for the shared account.
-
You can now adjust settings for this account, create mailbox rules, add contacts, and more — all of which are specific to the shared account, rather than your own.
Folder access
This access will show the shared mailbox as a 'folder' under your email account.
-
Open a browser and log in to Webmail (go/mail/) with your own Middlebury email.
-
Go to Settings (gear icon).
-
On the far left, select the tab for Account > Shared with me.
-
Click + Add.
-
Type the email address of the shared mailbox; select it from the drop-down list, then click Open.
-
You will see a confirmation that the account has been added, and you can click Close.
-
Refresh the tab, after which you should see the account listed as a 'folder' under your email.
