How to activate a new Champlain account

Follow the steps below to activate your Champlain account. Once you’ve activated your account, you will be able to get access to Champlain College online resources with your new login credentials.

Step 1: Account Activation

Please visit to activate your account.

To log in and activate your account, you will need to enter the following information in the “Sign in” box on the right hand side of the screen:

  • Student Username: “first.last”, where first is your full first name and last is your last name. For example, student Benjamin Jones would be benjamin.jones. (Note: The period between first and last is required.)
  • Faculty/Staff Username: “flast” where f is the first letter of your first name, and last is your full last name. For example, Robert Smith would be rsmith.

Temporary Password: Your first-time, temporary password has been set to your birthdate using the format MMDDYYYY. For example, the birthday April 1st, 1980 should be written as 04011980.

Step 2: Change Password

Once you have signed in, you will need to change your password. Your temporary password will no longer work.

Step 3: Security Set-up

Next, click the “Enrollment” tab. You will be required to answer three security questions and/or enter an alternate email address, which will ensure you have the ability to receive a one-time password to use to reset your account should you forget your password, or get locked out of the system in the future.
