No Cost and Discount Software for Champlain College Faculty and Staff
Champlain owned computers have access to a wide range of software that has already been licensed for use by faculty, staff and students. It is typically not necessary to make additional software purchases for these systems. A live resource that indicates where software is installed in campus labs may be found here. This page has information and links to the different software solutions provided to staff and faculty for personal academic use. Autodesk
Autodesk has a site where students can register to receive an educational license for their some of their products(including Autocad, 3DS Max, Maya). Gain access to it by visiting their site and registering your Champlain provided email address. Autodesk Education Community
Google Suite
All active Champlain College student, faculty and staff accounts include Google’s App suite. This provides the entire Champlain College community with Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Calendar and more. This account also provides cloud based storage to allow the sharing and storage of documents. These tools are accessible to all members of our community, including all students, and may facilitate collaboration and communication as they can be accessed from any Internet connected computer, on or off campus.
Microsoft Azure Dev Tools For Teaching
Students: This resource is provided automatically to eligible students at the beginning of the semester. Eligible students are those enrolled in certain courses in Champlain College Online, Information Technology and Science, or the Stiller School of Business. If you think you should have access contact ChampSupport (champsupport@champlain.edu). To access this resource, please follow the steps below:
1. Clear cache and cookies the browser you are using.
2. Use InPrivate or Incognito browser.
3. Go to https://signup.azure.com/studentverification?offerType=3.
4. Enter your school-provided email address and hit ‘Next’.
5. Enter the same password you are using for your school-provided email address then hit 'Sign In’.
6. Upon signing in, you may be asked to agree to the terms and conditions (for first time users). If not, you should be routed to the Education | Overview page.
7. To see software available, please click Software located on the left-hand side of the page.
8.Hit the 'Download' button to download the software and 'View Key' button to generate product key.
Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is installed on all Champlain College owned computers. For use on a personal computer, the same program that provides discounts on Adobe software also offers a discount on the full Microsoft Office 2019 suite through Champlain OnTheHub. Additionally, faculty and staff may choose to use the alternative Microsoft Office products included with their free Office 365 subscription.
Microsoft Windows 10 for Education
Microsoft Windows 10 is installed on Champlain College owned PCs. For use on a personal computer, the same program that provides discounts on Adobe software also offers a discount on Microsoft Windows 10 for Education, Champlain OnTheHub.
VMWare (VMAP)
Champlain owned systems should not require an additional license for VMWare. If you would like to have access to a particular product that you do not have already installed, contact us at champsupport@champlain.edu
Faculty teaching certain Champlain College Online, Information Technology and Science, or the Stiller School of Business courses are eligible for free and discounted software from VMWare through the VMWare Academic Program (VMAP). This license of VMWare can be used on a personally owned computer. Go to VMAP for details. For questions about eligibility, please contact ChampSupport.
