Menu bar icon missing after fresh installation - no window for connecting

Resolution:

Reboot:

  • Menu bar icon may be missing after fresh installation - with no window for connecting
  • Activity Monitor may not allow force quit of the Global Protect application
  • Upon reboot, menu bar icon is restored and connection works.

 

Additional Scenario:

Menu bar icon was present but is now missing.

The "Notch" where a webcam is on a computer may obscure menu bar icons. One of the simpler approaches to managing this is to Remove items that are not needed and/or re-arrange those that are there to keep the important ones visible.

Hold Command key:

1. Click and drag the icon out of the menu bar until the Remove option is listed, then release.

2. Click and drag the icon to another location on the menu bar and release to rearrange.
