Return here easily using go/middfiles/ or go/miisfiles/.
Middfiles is the home of classes folders, where students and faculty on the Middlebury campus can share files with each other. Many departmental shared folders currently reside on Middfiles as well, in the orgs folder.
Refer to Middfiles - Contents and Structure and Using Course Folders on the Classes Server for more information about the contents of Middfiles.
Miisfiles houses a Departments folder where some work groups on the Monterey campus store shared files.
Connecting
To connect to Middfiles / Miisfiles when using the Middlebury network (wired or wireless) on either campus, follow the instructions appropriate to your operating system:
If you're off-campus, you'll need to use a VPN connection or one of our other options for off-campus access.
Troubleshooting
Alternate DNS (Domain Name Service) settings may prevent discovery of on-campus file servers. To fix this, you can manually remove added DNS server entries and allow the device to get DNS server information automatically when leasing an IP address.
How To Geek's Ultimate Guide to Changing Your DNS Server explains how to manually set DNS server settings; removing them will cause the device to retrieve DNS server settings via the Internet Service Provider, which is middlebury.edu when on campus.
