Playlists

Playlists are the way to record what was broadcast during a show. DJs should create a new playlist each time their show is on the air.

Watch a video about creating playlists.

(NOTE: Since creating this video we've changed the process so you are automatically redirected back to the playlist entry form where you can add more songs without having to click Edit again in the admin toolbar.)

Creating a playlist

  1. Log in to the WRMC website using the login link in the bottom right corner of the page.
  2. In the admin bar at the top of the page, click Manage and then click Content.
  3. Click the blue + Add Content button.
  4. Select Playlists from the list of options.
  5. Type the name of your show in the Show text field and select it from the list of options.
  6. Add a song to the playlist
    • Click the Add Song from Last.FM to look up your song in the audio scrobbler database. This is the easiest way to add a song which has been commercially released. Begin typing the name of the song in the provided text field and select it from the list of options. This will pull in the artist, album name, and artwork for the song.
    • Click the Add Custom Song to manually enter song details. This is useful when you want to add a song to your playlist which hasn't been commercially released, like a song by your best friend's band. This is also useful if you want to record a playlist of non-song items, like a chat about a particular topic, a sports broadcast, or live radio play.
  7. Click the New checkbox if the song is newly released, the Request checkbox if the song was requested, and the Rotation checkbox if the song is in rotation. These will show up as badges on the playlist.
  8. Click the Save button. You must Save the playlist after entering each song.

You will be automatically redirected back to the playlist form where you can enter another song.

At the bottom of the playlist form is a dropdown that says On Air. When your show is over, change this to Off Air and save the playlist.
