Resources Requiring VPN for Off-campus Access

If you plan to work with any of the following resources from off campus, you must first establish a VPN connection.  NOTE:  VPN access must be requested; please request access by creating a Helpdesk Ticket.

• ArcGIS, used to create, share, and manage maps, scenes, layers, apps, and other geographic content

• Argos reporting

• Banner Admin (aka Banner 9)

  • NOTE: BannerWeb, commonly used for checking grades, does not require VPN.

• Exchange Admin Center (go/ecp/), used to change membership in distribution lists (groups) for sending email and/or controlling permissions

• Middfiles, Miisfiles, and connections using smb and mapped drives (such as N/: at Midd and S:/ at MIIS)

  • NOTE: You can use Web Access to access Middfiles and Miisfiles without the need for VPN.

• Monterey's Mobility Print installer

• Perceptive Content and Experience document management

• Remote Desktop Connection, used to connect to another computer so that you see and access the remote computer's desktop

• Remote Desktop Services (RDS), used to work with various enterprise applications

• Vectorworks, vector-based architectural software used for set and lighting design
