What’s New This Summer?

Wireless Certificate Update

The security certificate used on our campus Wi-Fi networks was updated again this past March. As a result of this change, you will likely be asked to trust a new certificate for “cpauth.middlebury.edu” when you connect to Wi-Fi this summer.  Please trust this certificate when prompted.  If you run into issues you may need to disconnect or forget the network and then reconnect.

Connect to Wireless (go/wifi/)

You can connect to our secure wireless network, MiddleburyCollege, using your Middlebury account (username@middlebury.edu) and password.  Connection to the campus network allows access to the internet, printing, and cloud storage.

Email (go/mail/)

All students, faculty, and staff have a cloud-hosted Exchange e-mail account that is protected by Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).  Email is Middlebury’s standard messaging method, so it is your responsibility to monitor your account for communications.  See our Account Lifecycle Policy for details about access after you leave campus. See our accounts website for further details. Summer faculty are considered "adjunct faculty."

Public Computers and Printing (go/print/)

A list of public computers can be found on the Equipment page. Both Middlebury and Monterey use print queues named MiddBW (prints black & white, double-sided by default) and MiddColor (prints color, single-sided by default). You can adjust the default settings both from the print screen and on the printer itself.  Install these queues for the most flexible printing options. You must be connected to the MiddleburyCollege network to use our printers.

Tip: Unless color is necessary, be sure to print in black and white to conserve resources.

Middlebury Campus

Visit go.middlebury.edu/print for information about printing on the Middlebury campus and how to manage your printing account.  Check out go.middlebury.edu/howtoprint for specifics about how to send a print job from your own computer using our mobility print service.

Important:  Poster print requests cannot be submitted from your own computer; please see our Posters at Middlebury (go/poster/) article to learn more.

Monterey Campus

For information and resources about printing at Monterey, see go.middlebury.edu/printingatMIIS.

Course Content & Resources via the Course Hub (go/hub/)

The Course Hub is Middlebury's gateway to course content for students and faculty.  The Semester Dashboard shows you the resources for all your registered courses – at a glance you can see Canvas sites, course information, and other connected resources.

For help with our learning management system, Canvas, see the Canvas Quick Overview for Students (go.middlebury.edu/CanvasStudentQuickguide).

File Storage

All faculty, staff, and students can store files in Middlebury’s OneDrive and/or Google Drive cloud accounts using their Middlebury email address and password. The contents of your cloud storage accounts are deleted after you leave Middlebury.  Visit go.middlebury.edu/cloudoverview to learn about these storage options.  We strongly recommend use of Middlebury’s cloud storage because:

  • They provide robust, password-protected storage for your important documents.

  • Automatic synchronization of specified folders to and from the cloud protects your work.  Files are backed up effortlessly so they can be retrieved in case of a virus or hardware failure. File revision history allows you to revert to a previous version, if needed.

  • Cloud storage is accessible from any networked computer, anywhere.

Use GO to Navigate Websites (go/usego/)

GO is a utility that provides a fast way to navigate to many common services and websites, both on the Middlebury website and externally.  To use it, enter a GO shortcut, such as go.middlebury.edu/mail, into your browser’s Address field (NOT the search bar in Google, etc). This will bring you directly to the page of the go link.  There are hundreds of registered GO shortcuts; visit the Gotionary to explore or create your own. See go.middlebury.edu/usego/ to view more details about how GO links work.

Try these:
